About the tutor:
I’ve always had a love for helping people, healing them with compresses and tea I made from my mother’s herb garden. This led me to Aromatherapy. I qualified in Aromatherapy, Anatomy and Physiology in 1997 at the School of Lillian Terry International in Pretoria South Africa.  I was the youngest student ever to be accepted to the School. I worked in our local Beauty Salon and later on landed a job at The Stress Clinic in South Africa, working with nurses and psychologist as a team helping people with stress related disorders and bringing balance to mind/body/soul.

I came to London in 2000 and started a career temping within NHS GP’s surgeries and NHS Hospitals. It was a very stressful and demanding job. This caused me to experienced acute stress first hand. I was able to recover with the help of Reiki and other holistic therapies. Reiki changed my life and it inspired me to go back to what I love; helping and healing people.

I have been working for myself as a Therapist for 5 years now. I have done all my qualifications through Gateway and they have supported and inspired me on my path of becoming the best therapist and healer I can be.

I am proof that positive affirmations and positive thinking works and heals. It has helped me to connect with my clients on a personal level to support, heal and teach with passion and from the heart.

My goal as a therapist is to bring balance to body, mind and soul. Holistic healing is more than just massage it is healing on all levels; our body speaks to us through pain, dis-ease and illness. I would like to share this knowledge and experiences with as many people as possible through teaching.

About the tutor:
Since I can remember I have always wanted to care for people around me. In 2002 I qualified with a first class honours degree in Psychology and began a stressful career working as an Assistant Psychologist for the NHS. My clinical work left me feeling so much was missing from what could be a valuable healing process. I moved to Asia for a few years and began a journey into natural and alternative ways of healing the mind and body. 

My study focused around energy, manipulation and intuition as tools for healing. My Buddhist teacher taught me to close my eyes and see with my hands, this forms a basis of my treatments and teaching today. I later returned to England and continued my training in Massage and Osteopathy and am currently training in Holistic Nutrition. I firmly believe that no matter what qualifications or experience one may have, we can always continue to learn from each other. 

I have attended many Gateway workshops and have been enthused by how much I have learnt. This led me to want to pass on my knowledge and experience to others.

I work both in the private and corporate sectors doing Massage, Postural assessments and health workshops. I also work with disabled and brain damaged clients at The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.
